Sivacrypticus is the only genus of the family Archeocrypticidae (cryptic fungus beetles) occurring in Taiwan. Archaecrypticidae is a small family of Tenebrionoidea, recent papers revealed it as sister to Ulodidae<ref name="Zhang2018">Template:Cite journal</ref>, to Ulodidae + Chalcodruidae + Promecheidae<ref name="McKenna2019">Template:Cite journal</ref>, or sister to Anthicidae + Ischaliidae + Meloiidae<ref name="Cosandey2024">Template:Cite journal</ref>.
Occurrence in Taiwanese leaf litter fauna
Only a single species S. taiwanus Kaszab, 1964 is recorded from Taiwan. The species is locally common in lowland forests in southern and central Taiwan.
