Sivacrypticus is the only genus of the family Archeocrypticidae (cryptic fungus beetles) occurring in Taiwan. Archaecrypticidae is a small family of Tenebrionoidea, recent papers revealed it as sister to Ulodidae<ref name="Zhang2018">Zhang S-Q, Che L-H, Li Y, Pang H, Ślipiński A, Zhang P (2018) Evolutionary history of Coleoptera revealed by extensive sampling of genes and species.
